The race is on
With Persipura long crowned champions who will be anointed runner's up? Last season it was PSMS who were beaten by Sriwijaya in the grand final. Now we have a two horse race between Persib and Persiwa.
The Bandung side are three points clear and have a game in hand. But their last three games are all away from home and they could go into their final game, against Persija, needing something. Before that they have to face Persitara, themselves in the drop zone, and Persela who are notoriously mean at home.
Persiwa have two games left and both are at home where they have a 100% record. PSMS are doing well now as they seek to pull away from relegation while Sriwijaya have the slimmest of shots at second spot themselves. But Persiwa don't drop points at home.
Going on past form we can expect Persiwa to win their last two home games. That means Persib need four points from their last three away games to secure 2nd place. Their best finish in a while and it wasn't that long ago when a section of their support was calling for coach Jaya Hartono to leave,
