Terengganu Coach Hopes FAM Can Turn Turtle

Terengganu have been relegated from the Malaysia Super League. There is a good reason for this. They didn't win in their last 10 games. In a season that only lasts for 22 games that is a quite remarkable achievement.

They went into their final game of the season away to Penang needing a result but ended up losing. Terengganu now must face up to life in the Premier League for the first time since 2005/2006.

Or do they? Coach Che Ku Marzuki Che Ku Mohd Nor has hit upon a novel way for his team to avoid the drop.

Speaking after the loss away to Penang Che Ku suggested the FAM could do something to help. 'I hope FAM can do something so that Terengganu can stay for another season in the Super League.'

Do what exactly coach? Cancel the season for example? Do away with promotion and relegation for the year? Uncover some illegible players on opposing sides?

At a time when the FAM is under fire from all quarters over everything from poor preparation ahead of the ASEAN Football Federation Championships to the length of the season it beggars belief a professional coach of a professional football club would like the ruling body to help his team out just because he was unable to win many games.

People like to mock the FAM and for good reason. People like to laugh at the management of Malaysian football clubs. But thanks to Che Ku Marzuki for brightening up the weekend with such a ludicrous comment.
