Inter Island Cup 2014
Arema v Persib 2-1 (Fabiano Beltrame, Sengbah Kennedy; Vladimir Vujovic) 7,529
Persib returned to the scene of their greatest triumph in recent years, Jakabaring Stadium where they won the Indonesia Super League last season, but this time luck deserted them as it was Arema who lifted the much delayed IIC.
It was Arema's new signings who proved key to the success, Beltrame scoring from the spot on 51 minutes only for Vujovic to equalise 15 minutes later to force the game into extra time.
It was left to former Persiwa striker Kennedy to score the winner in the second period of extra time just minutes after coming on as a substitute.
The IIC was the second trophy for Arema during the pre season following their success in the SCM Cup. They also shared Trofeo Persija with Persija and Sriwijaya.
