Aleksander Duric Testimonial

Singapore. To mark his retirement from competitive football, Duric, who is into his final season with S.League club Tampines Rovers, will feature in the Castlewood Group Liverpool Masters - a friendly match between the Liverpool Masters and a Singapore Selection.

The game, to be played at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Nov 15, will double up as a testimonial match for the Bosnia-born Singaporean, who will be part of the local legends team led by Fandi Ahmad and V Sundramoorthy.

Among the names pencilled in for the Liverpool Masters are former Liverpool stars Patrik Berger, Vladimir Smicer, Steve McManaman, and player-manager Ian Rush.

Duric, who made 54 appearances for the Lions, scoring 27 times, said he is "really honoured".
"I'm an Arsenal fan, but I don't think there's a better way to end my career than sharing a pitch with so many great players. "I grew up watching Ian Rush play for Liverpool and Juventus, so this is exciting for me.

"Believe it or not, this will also be the first time I will be playing with Fandi and Sundram. I can't wait."

Duric, the only player to pass the 300-goal mark in the S.League, was part of the Singapore side that lifted the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup. He announced his international retirement last year.
He has not decided if he will stay in football in another capacity. He said: "One thing for sure is that Singapore is my home, and it's where I'm staying.

"I grew up here in many ways; as a man, as a player, and as a father (of three children)."
