Heartbreak For Home United
AFC Cup
Persipura v Home United 0-2 (Fazrul Nawaz, Juma'at Jantan) 12,525
That rarest of rarities, a Persipura home loss. Great result for Home who were 2-0 up after 23 minutes but it was, alas and alack, not enough. Churchill Brothers' 2-1 win in the Maldives against New Radiant means the Indian side go through to the next round of the cup on goal difference.
For Persipura, the result was academic as they had already qualified as group leaders but that didn't stop coach Jacksen F Tiago getting angry with his team and their performance.
Persipura's reward is a tie with Yangon United
Hanoi T & T v Arema 2-1 (Ngyuen 2; Gonzales)
The obligatory goal from Cristian Gonzales wasn't enough to save Arema from defeat against the Vietnamese side but again, the job was done and they were through to the next round.
It was Arema who took the lead in the first half but the home team hit twice in 68; and 75' and to compound the misery they had Samsul Arif sent off on 77 minutes.
They now face Kitchee in the next round!
Selangor v Maizya 4-1 (Paolo Rangel 3, Azmi Muslim; Abdulla Asadhulla) 500
By my estimation, that is about 8,639 goals for Rangel this season which isn't bad I suppose but where were the fans?
Indonesia Super League
Gresik United v Pelita Bandung Raya 0-0 1,255
Umm, it was 0-0. In front of a small crowd. And that, I think, is about all we need to know! Oh, and Jimmy Suparno was sent off in the second hlf.
Persepam MU v Persiba Bantul 3-1 (Zaenal Arif, Rossy, Busari; Ugik) 4,430
The Madura team kept up their winning start under new coach Arcan Iurie, safely enconsed in midtable. Persiba however are in big trouble. Despite having forwward like Claude Ngon Djam and Emile Mbamba up top they are are deep poo poo with just two points from eight games
