Indonesia's El Classico Ends All Square

Persija v Persib was finally played in Sleman, way down in Yogyakarta and despite the distance from the respective teams' homebases a more than healthy 20,000 turned up for the fun and games.

And no doubt there were some fun and games with the ref stopping play for a bit during the first half!

Persija, whose fans are used to long trips for home games, took the lead midway through the first half through M Ilham and Persib were left waiting for Sergio Van Dijk to rescue them in the second half with the 21st of a very successful debut season in Indonesia.

Probably the best result for security officials there, Persib will be ruing yet more lost points after losing their last home game, one point from six is poor return for a team chasing second place in the Indonesia Super League.

They currently hold second place but Arema are just a point behind them and have two games in hand
