PSPS Changes

It's not been a good season for PSPS Pekanbaru. After their opening 17 games they have just three wins and 14 points to put them in 16th place in the Indonesia Super League.

Coach Mundari Karya has quit while a number of players have also been released. Three, Rohit Chand, M Ilham and Glen Poluakan have joined fellow cellar dwellers Persija while Slamet Riyadi, Lee Su Hyong, Trias Budi and Amin Syarifuddin have also been allowed to leave.

The club don't seem to be in a hurry to replace Mundari. Indeed a quote in a local tabloid today suggests they will allow a couple off assistant coaches lead the team till the end of the season because 'they better understand the character of the players. If they have the proper licences.

Meanwhile PSPS will switch home grounds for the second half of the season. After a few months in Bangkinang they will return to Rumbai Stadium in Pekanbaru hoping to get a larger take at the gate.

Reading between the lines the club are skint and have resigned themselves to relegation. Appointing a new coach is not seen as worthwhile as he would only cost more money!
