Mitra Still Hopeful Over Scheva

Mitra Kukar have faded after an impressive start to the Indonesia Super League but they still haven't given up hopes of signing former Ukrainian international striker Andrei Shevchenko as this report (original in Bahasa Indonesia) suggests.

Questions about how much he will be paid and how many games he will be paid aren't really answered but the club hold out hopes he could arrive for the second half of the season.

Mitra Kukar, who play in front of crowds around 3,000 ++, play on the island of Borneo and currently sit fourth five points behind leaders Persipura. Once upon a time they plyed their trade in Surabaya, where they were known as Mitra Niac and once defeated Arsenal in a friendly. They play in the town of Tenggarong which is about two or three hours I believe from the nearest international airport of Balikpapan.

They have a Swedish coach this season, at the moment, Stefan Hansson who once upon a time played for South Melbourne and San Jose Earthquakes.
