Persib's New Stadium Taking Shape
Without doubt Persib are one of the best supported clubs in the country. Yet they have woefully lacked a decent stadium to show off in front of their fans. Siliwangi Stadium in Bandung only holds about 22,000 while Jalak Harapat Stadium out in Soreang holds about 35,000 but is a bastard to get to and from.
They're finally getting a new stadium. It has been announced that the new venue will be called Dada Rosada Stadium and will hold 38,000 spectators. Is that big enough?
Persib are hoping to get a big team to 'open' the stadium and one name mentioned so far is ALeague champions Brisbane Roar, owned by an Indonesian family prominent in the game here.
