The Mysterious Disappearance Of Teerathep

There is no denying the talent of Teerathep Winothai. Like so many of the current Thai generation he is a player of exceptional skill and intelligence yet he seems to have difficulty adding a cutting edge to his play.

One source who has worked with him in the past wondered why he hadn't made the progress he thought he would have done.

The last 12 months has seen Leesaw, as he is known, all but fall off the football map. First, his Belgian side Lierse were happy enough to se him return to Thailand where he was added to the ranks of champions Muang Tong United. However instead of helping them to a second consecutive Thai Premier League they released to him to BEC Tero Sasana for the second half of the season.

For much of Thailand's failed AFF Cup campaign he was a peripheral figure. He started on the pitch in the Lao game but he ended it jostling the fourth official as the Thais fell to Indonesia.

It was almost as if he was trying to remind people he was still around.
