Wanted ! Striker Built Like Brick Shit House

While Oktavianus Maniani may have impressed in last week's friendly against the Maldives for Indonesia it remains to be seen whether he is the man to start scoring freely for the Merah-Putih. Yes, he's lightening fast but then is is his fellow Papuan Boas Solossa and look how often he is injured.

Bambang Pamungkas, TA Mushafry and Aliyudin are about the same height as Okta and Boas. Maybe 5' 8'' and feather light. Indeed Okta is so light that when he got injured last week against the Maldives instead of the usual four stretcher bearers just one guy rushed on the pitch and carried him off under his arm.

How light is Okta? When it starts getting windy he is substituted before he gets blown away.

Indonesia's strike force is as lightweight as an Arsenal forward line comprising Arsharvin, Nasri, Rosicky, Denilson and Mavis from Coronation Street.

What they need is hulking great brute as tall as he is wide with the body strength to hold the ball up as well as the technical ability to lay it off first or second touch. Someone like Peter Crouch would be ideal. If he signed for say Persik for five years he could then take out Indonesian citizenship and play for the national team. I mean it's not like anyone's gonna pick him for the England team.

Against Uruguay and indeed Syria in the World Cup 2010 Qualifiers Indonesia lacked a great hulk up front who could not be knocked off the ball by a gentle sneeze or a slightly humourous joke.

Coaches need to look at players diets. Enough bloody Indomie and Teh Botol, the players need filling out and this needs to start at an early age. Modern players are faster and stronger than before and Indonesia needs to play catch up before rivals like the Thais are over the hill and far away.
