Young Malaysians overcome Beijing Guoan

SINGAPORE, 20 July 2010: The Malaysia Under-23 team overcame a determined Beijing Guoan Talent team 3-0 in a friendly match played at the Yishun stadium.

The reigning SEA Games Gold medal winners opened the scoring through striker Norshahrul Idlan Talaha after he pounced on a mistake by goalkeeper Yan Hai in the 22nd minute.

Captain Aidil Zafuan nodded in the Malaysians' second goal just a minute after half time before striker Zaquan Adha chipped in the game's final goal in the 64th minute.

“The conditions were not easy to play because of the rain and Beijing gave us a very good game. I wanted my team to play against this sort of opposition as we will be playing a friendly against the South Korean Under 23 next month,” said a satisfied coach, K Rajagopal.

Comments:
Hi "me",

like Rajagopal said it was a muddy patch as if it was ran over by those trawlers... But the M'sian does shown a lot of promise that we just hope the notorious meddling of that of those FAM culture don't derail the development of this team

what he is saying is that look how bad the pitch was but my players still managed to get a result following my instructions

extra brownie points for the stuffed shiorts back in kl who will, yep, probably hinder many a promising career
