Dates are provisional.
I've always had a soft spot for Burnley and was delighted when they got promoted last season.
The first time I went to Turf Moor for a game against Bolton Wanderers I was blown away. It was a great game of football with an electric (sorry, can't think of another adjective) atmosphere. And, befitting an early 1980s derby, there was as much action on the terraces as there was on the field.
I returned several years later for a piss up in the town and we soon fell in with some Burnley fans. They had 1-0 at home but no-one seemed to give a toss. Pissed up lads in claret n blue hogged the town centre bars singing and dancing all night.
Some of the lads were dead friendly and we were invited on a bus strip to Rochdale...a revenge mission for one of their lads who had been banjoed around Spotland a few weeks earlier.
Not long after I returned for a game against Cambridge United. Not because I like the U's, I don't. But John Filan, St George legend, was playing for the visitors.
On that occasion I had a wander round the town, it was daylight and I was sober, a new experience for me in Burnley, and I was struck by how parochial the place was. Sports shops sold Burnley shirts and Burnley scarves. That was it. Nothing from nearby teams like Liverpool and Manchester United and, for sure, nothing from Blackburn Bastard Rovers!
It would be nice to see more than a few Burnley fans make the trip next month!

Nice post mate. Having watched the Clarets for a year in the Prem its time for me to head back East. If you are in Singers for the mini tour then join me and a few other Asia based Clarets for a drink. Scott scunliffe74@yahoo.co.uk
