Arema Open Official Club Shop
In what could well be a first for Indonesian football Super League champions Arema have opened an official store.
Of course this being Indonesia the domestic season has ended save for a few Indonesia Cup games. And judging by these images the shop is selling shirts from a previous season!
They are aiming for first year sales of $220,000 USD which to me seems on the low side. Assume $8 a replica shirt selling 10,000 would see them a third of the way there. Remember Arema last season averaged something like 30,000 fans per home game. And fans don't just buy one shirt. They get the away shirt. And scarves. And badges.
It remains to be seen whether or not they build on this season's success or whether the squad will be allowed to whither away.
Still, they're making a start. Hopefully other teams will follow their lead.
