That dull old SLeague
One criticism aimed at the SLeague, and obviously one I don't subscribe to, is that there is no excitement in it. That's bollocks of course so it is appropriate that on the day after the Singapore FA announced it's Strategic Plan for the next six years two teams should have conspired to produce and absolute classic.
Young Lions took the lead against champions SAFFC before Richard Bok's men took charge and were 3-1 up at half time.
Unbelievably three goals in 12 second half minutes turned the game on it's head, giving Young Lions an unlikely three points and leaving SAFFC in unusual territory, 5th and six points behind leaders Tampines Rovers.
I see a Madhu Mohana came on for Khairul Nizam in the second half. Is he the young lad I saw score for Singapore against Indonesia in last year's AFC Under 19 Championships? Likewise Shafiq Ghani, so impressive in the AFC Under 16s in 2008 was an unsed sub.
Good times ahead for Singapore if these youngsters can continue their development.
