Swelling the AFC's coffers

Hats off to Indonesian football. The FA and clubs have decided to fund football development in less well off parts of Asia by ingnoring existing rules and regulations thereby incurring fines to be paid to the AFC. Fair play says I.

AFC Asian Cup 2011 Qualifiers: The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has been fined USD 11,000 for liability for spectator conduct when plastic bottles were thrown onto the pitch and pitch invasion by spectators during the match against Oman on 6 January, 2010. The PSSI was also fined USD 3000 for repeated infringements. The total fine is USD 14,000.

AFC Cup 2010 Team Workshop: Indonesian club Persiwa Wamena have been fined USD 5000 as their team manager did not attend the workshop.

AFC Champions League 2010 play-off: Indonesia’s Sriwijaya have been fined USD 5000 as their media officer was not available during their match against Singapore Armed Forces FC (Singapore) on 30 January 2010.

AFC Asian Cup 2011 Qualifiers: Indonesia Football Association have been fined USD 3000 for sporting sponsor logos on bags and captain’s armband during their match against Australia on 3 March 2010.

AFC Cup 2010: Indonesia’s Persiwa Wamena have been fined USD 5000 for liability for spectator conduct (bottle throwing) during their AFC Cup match against VB (Maldives) on 24 February 2010.

AFC Champions League 2010: Indonesian club Persipura Jayapura have been fined USD 5000 as their media officer was not available during their match against Jeonbuk Motors (Korea Republic) on 23 February 2010.
