Pitch Invasion
A one man pitch invasion last night at the Bung Karno Stadium could well put the Indonesian FA into more trouble. They were fined by the AFC after fans through plastic water bottles at Kuwaiti players who were warming up last November.
Last night a fan got on to the pitch, took the ball, dribbled into the Oman penalty area, shot feebly at the keeper before being wrestled to the ground by a dozen security personnel.
Dunno which part of the ground he had come from. If it was the VIP area, which doesn't have fences well, what can we cay. If he had come on from the cheap seats then he would have had to overcome both fences and a ditch as well as the security people.
Football governing bodies view this sort of intrusion as a BAD THING and are likely to impose a big punishment on the Indonesians for allowing it to happen.
But this lad showed more spirit and spunk in those fleeting seconds than the whole team did throughout the game. When the AFC come round to deciding fit and proper punishments perhaps they should also fine the Indonesian team for bringing the game into disrepute for never have I seen such an inept performance at such a level.
