SEA Games

Haven't given much coverage to the SEA Games in Lao recently. It would have been nice to have gone there and covered it but I didn't and it ain't been shown locally as far as I'm aware.

Any old hows Andy is there for the duration and is doing a great job on his blog but he's heading home now the Cambodian interest has ended. Indonesia as ever were a disaster despite coming from behind against Singapore in the first game, even losing to the host team.

Malaysia beat Thailand and are through to the semi finals along with Laos, Vietnam and Singapore. While a few people maybe surprised to the Malaysians get through I'm not. As I've said on here on more than a few occassions some good stuff happening there at the lower levels.

People who saw Laos v Singapore were offended by the players who didn't perform on either side as both teams already had their semi places assured. Something needs to be done to make sure we don't get this kind of shit again, it makes a mockery of the competition and the region. As indeed did the Malaysians spat after the Vietnam game.

Would like to see either the Malaysians or Singaporeans win despite their lack of 'fair play' though but somehow feel that either Vietnam or Laos is destined to win. You know, big brother little brother, big friendly neighbour little subserviant neighbour, all that sort of stuff.
