Another foreign team in semi finals

Albirex Niigata defeated Tampines Rovers 1-0 earlier on this evening in the Singapore Cup to level the tie 1-1. Extra time couldn't split the teams and the Japanese won on penalties to join Bangkok Glass, TTM Samut Sakorn and Geylang United in the semis.

Yeap, the Singapore Cup semi finals will feature three foreign teams. Kinda like Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham reaching the FA Cup semis.

It's not been the best of seasons in Singapore for the local game with another foreign side, DPMM, winning the League Cup and the national side losing 5-0 to Liverpool in a friendly. SAF are set for a 4th consecutive title after their nearest rivals fell away after the second round of fixtures. And if rumours are true some of the best players in the SLeague leaving at the end of the season...

Still, there's always the Young Lions to salvage some hope in Laos at the SEA Games...
