TPL Preview

TOR CHITTINAND

Chonburi will be trying to stop the rot when they meet relegation strugglers Sri Racha in a derby of the East in the Thai Premier League today.

Second-placed Chonburi have only secured one point from their last two games and have been overtaken by Muang Thong United at the top of the table.

Coach Kiatisak Senamung is confident that his men will beat their neighbours at Sirindhorn stadium and get their title hunt back on track.

"We were off form in the last two matches but I am confident we will beat Sri Racha," said Kiatisak.

"I hope our strike force of Kone Mohamed, Pipop On-mo and Arthit Sunthornpit will regain form."

Bottom side Chula United travel to fellow relegation contenders Nakhon Pathom in a do-or-die clash for both sides.

Chula coach Narong Suwannachote knows that anything less than a win will send his team into deeper trouble.

"Time is fast running out," Narong said. "We are at the same level. If we can't get three points, it will be highly likely that we will play in the top flight next year."

Leaders Muang Thong face a tricky assignment against defending champions Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) in Ayutthaya tomorrow.

COMMENT - dig deep in the Singapore printed media and you may just find the day's fixtures. But wow, fixtures, stadiums, preview...read it and weep. Does the Bangkok Post have the best local football coverage in the region? Or will Jakarta Globe, who have always tried to feature a local story, match them. Is there any hope for Singapore? And as for the Jakarta Post?
