Khairul Amri withdraws from Singapore squad

SINGAPORE, 7 August 2009: Khairul Amri has been withdrawn from the Singapore squad that will take on China on 12 August after he came down with a high fever.

Home United’s Itimi Dickson has been called up to replace the Tampines Rovers striker who also missed the Stags’ 3-2 defeat to Home United last night in the vital Great Eastern – YEO’S S.League match due to the fever.

Dickson last played for the Lions in the 1-1 draw with Thailand in the 2nd leg of Asean Football Championship Final in 2007. Incidentally, Khairul Amri replaced him early in the second half and scored the equaliser nine minutes from time to help the Lions to win their third AFF Championships.
