Greg Nwokolo (again)
Forget the John Terry, Carlos Tevez sagas, it's Greg Nwokolo who is making waves in Indonesia. On Tuesday I was told by Persija management that he would be staying with the Jakarta club after weeks of tales linking the Nigerian with Sriwijaya.
Now comes this story, alluded to yesterday by one commentator on this site, that he is off to Germany to try his luck there. If that fails then there is still a chance that he will join Sriwijaya. Or even stay at Persija.
In today's sports tabloid is a story that Sriwijaya have re-signed Anoure Obiora. If that is true, and if they have also kept Zah Rahan and Keith Kayamba Gumbs that means the Copa winners have their alloted three foreigners meaning the door to Nwokolo is closed.
This tale has more twists and turns than a plate of spaghetti!

Hi Antony.
A couple of days ago the Jakarta Globe ran a story that Erol Iba was possibly going to Newcastle Jets in the A-League.
There has been absolutely nothing on any of the football news/forums here about this - do you have any idea if there is any substance to it.
Cheers,
Bruce

Thanks antony.
Just thought you may have heard something.
He's a player I rate from the few times I've seen him play - I think he'd go pretty Ok in the A-League so if the story is right, I would look forward to seeing him play here.
Jets are in a bit of turmoil (putting it mildly) lately but hopefully they will settle down and he'd get a fair go with them.

The Globe had quotes from the player and his agent ... a far sight better than most transfer rumor stories.
Maybe Newcastle's coach and Greg will bump into each other in Germany?
