Jet lagged PSMS

After qualifying for the knock out stage of the AFC Cup PSMS face a more mundane challenge as they fight to keep their ISL status when they take on PKT at Gelora Sriwijaya in Palembang today. And they go into the game after a mammoth 24 hour journey home from the Maldives where they defeated VB 2-1 to ensure qualification.

Imagine Fergie, Wenger or Rafa having to ge their teams prepared hours after a long flight. The 3 Whiners complain about treks to Spain or Greece, calling them long flights. What would they make of 24 hours including endless hours in mind numbing transit.

I just hope those poor players were able to keep their iPods, PSPs and mobiles charged. I mean heaven forbid they actually read anything!

Still at least they're only playing PKT, a side in an even more precarious position than themselves.

In fact here's the bottom of the table...

Bottom 4

15 - PSMS 25 3 12 10 28-36 21
16 - PKT 26 4 8 14 25-46 20
17 - PSIS 25 4 7 14 14-45 19
18 - Deltras 25 4 6 15 16-35 18

It's all pretty tight down there with Persitara in 14th on 22 and Persita 13th on 24 points. No doubting PSMS will be shattered after their mid week endeavours but PKT, despite just five points and none goals away from home, won't be any pushovers as they try to hold on to their own ISL spot.

The bottom three go down to the IPL while the 4th bottom placed side, currently PSMS, will go into a play off with one of the 4th placed side in the IPL play offs.
