Johor MBJB suspended

MBJB won their first league match, and scored their first goals, in a 2-1 win against Navy team Sinar Dimaja Mai Sarah in Batu Kawan last Friday but had their celebrations cut short after being informed of the ban.

The FA of Malaysia (FAM) barred MBJB from competing in the league until further notice following the team management's failure to settle players and officials protective insurance dues amounting to RM70,000.

FAM competitions committee gave MBJB until last Friday to resolve the issue and have suspended the team from all football activities pending resolution of the matter.

"The decision was reached by the competitions committee and until MBJB files an appeal or settles the insurance amount, they are suspended from the league," said FAM secretary-general Datuk Azzuddin Ahmad.

"All league fixtures will proceed as scheduled with the exception of those involving MBJB. They retain their place in the standings until further notice."

The league competition rules on expulsion states a team faces a fine and a five-year ban with all their previous matches being declared null and void.

UPDATE - they've been kicked out!
