SAF squeeze through

SAF, SLeague champions the last three seasons, just about overcame struggling PSMS last night at Jalan Besar to book their place in the ACL proper for the first time in their history.

The Warriors took the lead through Thai Therdsak Chaiman but Costas equalised early in the second half. It took an extra winner from Ahmad Latiff Khamarudin to guarantee SAF's place among Asia's elite.

In the last few minutes PSMS had two players sent off by the Malaysian ref.

SAF will now join the group populated by Shanghai Shenhua, Kashima Antlers Suwon Bluewings while PSMS join the AFC Cup - I will add group details later.

Jakarta,

Of course SAFFC aren't going to win the damm thing, but how do you think they will fair?

In your opinion, can they hold their own or will they be on a hiding to nothing?

Will you catch any of the games?

Hey "me"..

didn't spot any Medan supporters in the stands

There wers some Indon fans just behind the PSMS dugout

unless saf or sriwijaya get something in their away games they are not going through to the group stage. and even that is assuming strong home form.

the best they can hope for is a learning curve and funds to reinvest but even that is unlikely with saf limited by salary caps and sriwijaya ... nominally they are now a private company but how much would rahmad darmawan, their coach, be given to spend? how much will be spent developing their stadium? and how much will just evaporate?

not sure about going to any saf games - will have to check my schedule. i will however be going to see sriwijaya play seoul next month
