Persib Forced to Move
Persib Bandung have been told to play their next two home games, against PSIS and Pelita Jaya, at Jaluk Harupat Stadium, in nearby Soreang for security reasons.
Concerns were raised after the riot that followed the Persija game at their usual stadium of Siliwangi and while the security officials are keen that Persib's fans can see their team they are reluctant to see a repeat of those incidents.
It is of course the job of security to keep things safe but moving the team 90 minutes down the road doesn't solve the problem. Crowd control is a serious business and doesn't include sitting on one's bum watching a football match. There's much more to it than that.
With effective measures in place then scenes like the one mentioned earlier will become a distant memory and not a recurring event.
