The Uniform Derby
Another big clash in Singapore tomorrow sees Home United take on Singapore Armed Forces at the Warriors Arena.
As well as dominating the SLeague this season they have traditionally been the teams to beat in the newish (began 1996) SLeague with SAF winning the title 6 times and Home twice.
SAF of course have won the title in the last two seasons while Home last tasted success back in 2003 but this season it is the Protectors who are setting the pace unbeaten after 9 games with a one point cushion over their bitter rivals.
Kengne Ludovick is the League's leading scorer with 10 goals so far this season while SAF's own goal predator Aleksander Duric isn't far behind with 9.
SAF have wobbled of late losing 3-2 to the Super Reds while being held 1-1 at Jalan Besar by Victory in the AFC Cup while Home have won 12 of their 13 games this season, just Gombak United getting anything from the side from Bishan drawing 3-3.
Clubs backed by various arms of the government may not be as sexy as the likes of Liverpool or Arsenal but these guys are raising the standard of football in Singapore and it is up to the other clubs to try and match them as Super Reds are trying.
The world is not yet ready it seems for live coverage of the SLeague but you can find out how the game pans out here and of course Top Corner on Tuesday will hopefully have some coverage on Star Sports!
