Mark Redshaw must try elsewhere
Young English striker Mark Redshaw, who has spent time with Manchester United and LA Galaxy, will not be allowed to ply his trade in the Liga Super that commences in July.
As part of their move to improve the standard of the game here the FA have decreed imports must have played the game at a high level elsewhere. Redshaw's last club was Rossendale United who play in the Unibond Northern Premier League which is a long way down the pyramid.

Rossendale United have taken the opportunity, early in the season, to strengthen their squad. First to arrive is Mark Redshaw who has just returned to the UK after a spell in the Belgium league. Mark is no stranger to Dark Lane having previously been with club in 2004. He is an experienced forward whose previous clubs include both Manchester City and United. Derek Egan, Rossendale’s manager commented “Mark’s a positive signing. He made an immediate impact at the Mossley match on Saturday when he came off the bench and his goal clearly showed his quality and pedigree”.
Mark Redshaw first signed for Rossendale in the 2004/5 season and was one of Mark Molyneaux’s initial signings. He made eight appearances for the club, scoring once in a League Cup tie away at Kendal Town.
Mark is one of 16 players so far who have tried to play here and been rejected because they are deemed to have come from a level lower than where the Liga sees itself.

Yeah this is true I believe, Redshaw was offered a one year deal in Indonesia with Persiba Balikpapan who at the time was coached by Redshaw's close friend Peter Butler. I heard Redshaw was not aloud to sign for the club becuase his last club was Rossendale who play at a lower level of the English League system, The thing that annoyed everyone with this was that Redshaw had only signed with Rossendale because he was on his way back from injury and wanted to get is fitness levels up before he found himself a new pro-club and he only played there for six weeks.
I believe Redshaw is now playing in Cyprus.
