Tampines start brightly
After running eventual champions SAF close all last season Tampines will be hoping for a championship winning season in 2008 but were dealt a blow when prolific scorer Noh Alam Shah was suspended for 12 months.
Tampines have rejigged their squad, putting the emphasis on youth and last night won their first game of the season, beating Gombak United 2-0 at the Jurong West Stadium.
Aliff Shafaein 32 and Mustafic Fahrudin on 68 put the Rovers on top of the table but there is a bloody long way to go; just three fixtures have been played so far, half the teams have yet to kick a ball in anger.
Tonight sees Geylang host Balestier Khalsa at the Bedok Stadium
