Keith Jerome Gumbs (Sriwijaya)
Better known as Kayamba, this 35 year old striker from St Kitts in the Caribean is in his first season in Indonesia and his performance on Wednesday against Persija in the Liga semi final had the Jakarta side coach Isman Jasulmei purring.
Kayamba has had a round about journey since starting his career in his own country with Newtown United. When he was 24 he moved to Holland where he played for FC Twente. In 1998 he headed to England and Oldham but his stay in that grim northern shit pit was short and in 1999 he headed to the sunshine of Greece and Panathinaikos.
A pattern was developing because in 2000 he was off again, this time to Strum Graz in Austria then 2001 Palmerias in Brazil.
Since 2002 he has plyed his trade in Asia with Happy Valley and Kitchee in Hong Kong as well as Sabah in Malaysia before settling in Palembang last year. In his first season he has scored 14 goals as well as the cracker that beat Persija on Wednesday.
