Selangor's humiliation

Who was the joker who thought it would be a great hoot to schedule the Sultan of Selangor at the same time as the Malaysia Cup quarter finals second leg?

Selangor had to play in Kota Bahru, never an easy place to play and an even hotter venue after events in the first leg when crowd trouble marred the game at Shah Alam Stadium.

Out of the goodness of their hearts them kindly folk at the Malaysian FA brought the game forward 24 hours.

24 hours later and they were playing Singapore in the SOS Cup. Shattered, worn out after the travelling, dunno if they flew or went by bus, and probably uninterested after seeing their Malaysia Cup hopes dashed.

But then that's Malaysia for you. Cackhandedness is a job requirement. You can be sure were Manchester United or Liverpool in town there would be more than 24 hours respite for the players. No bugger would be playing for a week either side as everyone gets excited by what Rooney has for breakfast or what Fergie says about the twin towers.

But yeah, forward planning and the Malaysian FA don't go together.Bit like FIFA and corruption...

Whoops...
