Suffer the stretcher bearers

When I first started Jakarta Casual and watching Indonesian football on a regular basis it didn't take long for me to see how in many games the poor saps carrying the stretchers did more running than some of the players and I would make the occassional sarccy comment to that effect. Not that I can find any links among my 4000+ posts so bear with me.

I'm not alone of course and with an increase in English language blogs in the region covering football other people have also railled against this woosy activity including Andy in his Cambodian football blog and Dale in his Chonburi pages.

Of course just because three forty something expatriate Englishmen living out their teenage John Motson fantasies have a whine about it don't mean the relevant FAs are going to take any action. It needs local pressure from local people to force any change and that ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

So for the time being we'll be seeing plenty of this panting, perspiring wannabe first aid chappies doing their thang. Time perhaps for a special t shirt?!

Comments:
The first paragraph of this match report is the latest in my long line of rants against the use of stretchers in the Thai leagues.
