Big game to be fan less
Persib Bandung will play Persija Jakarta next Saturday, 9 January, at the Jalak Harupat Stadium in front of an empty stadium. Officials are woried about the potential for trouble when these two teams meet with a deep hatred polarising the two sets of supporters.
The notion of all ticket matches has yet to catch on here. Well it has, during the Asian Cup back in 2007 but even then I saw fans just giving security officials charged with checking tickets cash to let them through.
Other high risk games in January are Persik v Arema, Arema v Persebaya and Persija v Persitara.
