Scott O'Donell's Thoughts

I think I would have preferred Group B rather than Group A, but as you know, there are no easy games for Cambodia at this level.

The tournament here is going really well. It is very good preparation for the SEA Games. A good opportunity to play against strong opposition, and playing every second day, like we will do at SEA Games.

I have been happy with the boys so far. We defeated HAGL 3-2 after being down 2-0 after 50 minutes. The boys showed great character coming back for being two goals down and played some good attacking football.

We defeated Laos 2-1 in the second game. We started off really well and were up 2-0 after 30 minutes but then stopped playing and allowed Laos back in to the game. We defended well under pressure and despite conceding an early second half goal, held on well and showed great determination and I was very happy with the effort of the players.

We play Ninh Binh FC this evening. We have already qualified for Saturday's final and do not know who we will be playing, although the odds are that we will face HAGL.

Scott is the national team coach of Cambodia and is currently preparing the Under 23s for the SEA Games

Comments:
hey i see you are doing interviews now on cambodia soil...be careful, I might get angry that you're stepping on my patch:-)
Scott seems to have calmed down as at the end of the Laos game he was VERY unhappy. However I agree with him that we defended pretty well considering we were under the cosh, and actually restricted Laos to shots from distance which gk Samreth Seiha did well to keep out. we can't always play well, but if we play poorly and still win, then that's to be commended, as it means we are tough to beat.
Go Cambodia.
