Persib v PSMS 2-0
It's pissing down in Soreang, the pitch is like a swimming pool. Persib go into this game minus strikers Cristian Gonzales, Hilton Moreia and Lorenzo Cabanas who probably aren't too disappointed. Their team mates need golashes, not football boots.
By rights the game shouldn't be going ahead. But given the fixture pile up plus the fact that PSMS face 2 hour flights plus four hour drives plus overnight stays in hotels postponment gets pricey lah
In come Rafael Bastos and Airlangga Suciptio up front as Persib cling to their outside chance of ISL glory.
No team was going to pass their way to three points, not with all those damned tadpole ponds, so it was no surprise that the first goal came from distance.
Horison had saved PSMS on a couple of occasions already, mostly from Siswanto with Bastos and Airlangga quiet, but he`had no chance when George Nyeck Nyobe drove home a 35 yard free kick. I guess professionals would question the keeper and his wall but who cares. Football without mistakes is just chess with sponsored pieces being moved round the board by serious looking coaches
Talking mistakes we can't forget those match officials. At Lamongan in their last game PSMS were victims, shall we say, of a ref too quick to blow the whistle in favour of the home side. And bugger me if it don't happen again.
A cross from the right appears to hit a Medan defender's shin. The linesman on that side unexplicabily claimed it was a pen, PSMS disagreed and all agreed that he had fucked up. All except the ref who pointd to the spot and Rafael made it 2-0
To be fair PSMS did play pretty well. I was going to add they probably deserved a draw but then I struggled to recall Persib keeper Tema making a save. Lots' of approach play, especially from skipper Leanardo Zada Martins but nothing that had Maman Abdurahman and his fellow defenders too worried.
