You're Supposed to be at Home

The absence of quality football stadiums has again been highlighted by the examples of two clubs based in and around Jakarta.

Persita Tangerang's Benteng Stadium was deemed inadequate for Super League football and, being unable to do anything for themselves (even their coach lacks the necessary license) they have been told to play their first two games bloody miles away.

Persita v Arema will take place at Bung Karno on 12 July while on 18 July they 'host' Persik at Siliwangi Stadium.

Persitara's first home game of the season is the Jakarta Derby against Persija and this will take place at Jalak Harupat Stadium in Soreang. About a four hour drive from the capital!

Until a more permanent arragement can be reached both clubs home games will be decided on a case by case basis. In other words, whatever stadium is available!

It maybe that both sides later use Lebak Bulus in South Jakarta but for the frst week of the season it is being used for the ASEAN Under 16s.

For yesterday's friendly at home to UKI, which they won 5-0, Persitara had Jacksen Tiago coaching but as yet they have no players signed or registered!

Welcome to the new age of professionalism in Indonesian football!
