Australia Win Big Again
First half they were pushed all the way by an impressive Malaysian performance but two quick goals early in the second half set the Joeys on their way to another big win.
I didn't speak to Steve Darby on the phone during the week so I didn't know what to expect from the Malaysians who do tend to provide this blog with a giglgle once in a while but last night they put in by far the best performance from a South East Asian nation capped with some fine individual performances and a contender for goal of the tournament.
Still, 4-1 is still 4-1.
In the second game Bahrain comfortably beat Indonesia 2-0. After the game the Indonesian coach announced he was satisfied with his team's performance.
Some people are easily pleased I guess. I'm no coach of course but if my team couldn't pass, couldn't control and couldn't mark then I wouldn't be so content.
Standings
1. Australia 3 3 0 0 12-2 9
2. Bahrain 3 2 0 1 4-2 6
3. Malaysia 2 1 0 1 3-4 3
4. Singapore 2 0 0 2 0-3 0
5. Indonesia 2 0 0 2 0-8 0

During the Ausralia v Indonesia game a couple of days back the young Malaysian players were sitting in the stand, together, making notes about their future opponents. The Indonesians on the other hand were sitting in different parts of the stand chatting and listening to their walkmans.
Teams are made off the pitch as much as on it.Standings
