Foreign Player Black List
The Indonesian FA in an attempt to improve the quality of the game have released a 'black list' of 70 foreign players who they feel should not play in either the Liga Super or the Liga Premier starting in July.
The FA base their recommendations on a number of categories including unsporting behaviour, professional misbehaviour, and attitude towards the match officials.
70 foreign players have made the black list which has been divided into three categories. Players under the first category should not be allowed to play during the upcoming season. In the second category the FA are advising clubs not to select the players while the third category is players who are suspended.
Players in the first category include James Koko Lomel, Gustavo Chena, Leo Guiterrez and Christopher Wreh! I understand an issue with Lomel relates to his ITC from Liberia and there are hopes that can be cleared up. Persik's new signing Chena is an interesting case and one I will find out more about. Suffice to say I find it hard to believe Persik, given their connections, would sign a player on a large contract only for him to be banned later. Leo is being chased by Persib I believe while former Arsenal striker Christopher Wreh talked of returning to England.
The second category includes Ceco, Khamaruc and Mustapha from Persija. Also on the list are Luis Eduardo Hicks and Frank Seator, both now playing in Malaysia, Persib's Patricio Jiminez, Liga top scorer Christian Gonzales plus Emile Mbamba, Patricio Morales, and Bruno Casmir from Arema.
There's some interesting names on the list and you can be sure that the matter isn't finished.
