Persija v Deltras 2-0
Story, images and Fandi interview tomorrow...Bambang scored twice for the Jak second half after bossing the game.
UPDATE
First half this game was nothing to write home about. It was hard to believe Deltras needed a win to qualify they seemed so lethargic and lacklustre.
Second half Persija started with a bang, forcing a quick fire succession of corners.
It was from a free kick that Persija finally took the lead, Bambang curling subliming round the wall. One down the Deltras had to go for it and it took a point blank save from Evegeny to keep the scores level.
Minutes later Ilham and some Deltras player played silly buggers on the touchline which sparked a period of pushing and shoving before calm was restored and both players were red carded, walking off arm in arm. Contrite Ilham apologises to his captain Bambang but the damage had been done though perhaps the ref had taken the easy option by sending both off.
As the men from Sidoarjo pressed they left gaping holes at the back which Persija, through the pace of Aliyudin, always threatened but too often there was little support.
Bambang scored a second to make the score more respectable after being played through by his strike partner Aliyudin.
Thousand were locked out of this game despite the club advising fans not to travel without tickets but only a handful of Deltras fans made the journey. One of their number had died on the recent trip to Yogyakarta for their last away game so they stayed away.
This recording, audio only, gives some indication of the atmosphere Indonesian fans are capable of generating. I did film a sequence for YouTube but numbnuts here cut it short just as a free kick was being taken!
