Keeping the spotlight on the national team
The Indonesian FA have announced a budget to help develop the Indonesian national team on 4 fronts.
Most of the money will go towards the Under 23's who later this month go to Malaysia to take part in the Merdeka Games before the South East Asia games in Thailand in December.
Funds have also been made available to help the Under 20's and Under 16's prepare for Asian Cup competition later this year.
Meanwhile Indonesia are looking for Uruguay to visit Jakarta and play a friendly later this month. The former World Cup winners were due to have played a game in June but cancelled. With European leagues starting it remains to be seen what kind of squad they would bring if the game goes ahead.
Even if the likes of Diego Forlan do not come this is exactly the sort of opponent Indonesia should be looking at and not the usual suspects like Singapore Under 23's and a bunch of lads who fancy a kick around. Uruguay may not be the power they once were but they are still technically gifted and would provide a strong test for the Garudas.
